Graffiti... what fun!

Every once and awhile I get into the mood to have some fun with Facebook's App. Graffiti.

Recently I found out that Jelly Belly is having a Graffiti contest, top 150 get free jelly beans... so I was like... heck yeah!!  So I did my first entry last night... was super fun, though I could of done better.  I think it was because it was bed time... but yeah... I just felt like sharing. :)

Here's a link to the actual Jelly Belly design.

Here's the reply... though it doesn't look as good since it doesn't show the jelly belly cut out over the drawing.

Now I'm brainstorming entry #2. :)
Any ideas that would make a good jelly belly design?  I was thinking drawing popcorn in one since I love that flavor. :)

I'm open to suggestions! :)

Some stuff I've done...

While I'm working on the owl hat, I figured I'd share some of the things I have done... I hope you enjoy. :)

Owl Hat

Since Jeff and I first picked out David's stroller/car seat I've had a strange obsession with those cute little cartoon style owls that are popping up everywhere.

(Mind you, owls were already a part of my life because my mother likes them. :) )

As I was looking through www.ravelry.com patterns, I found a really really really cute owl hat that I just fell in love with... at least the concept of it. The construction of it wasn't my cup of tea... so I set forth on a mission to make my own style owl hat.

Here I thought it would be easy... not quite. I think its the yarn I'm trying to use, which is just some left over scraps of Red Heart chunky stuff. Not working well... I wanted to try to make it two different colors, ear flaps being the contrast color working its way up into the body of the hat. (Knit all the way up, not sewn together like the hat pictured above.) It was too messy with the chunky yarn, so I think I'm going to have to go yarn shopping to find something a bit more suitable.

Any way, what I PLAN on doing is using felt for the eyes. And instead of sewing ears on, I'm going to hit the hat like a tube and sew the top shut, then tie off the corners to be like ears.

I'm pretty darned excited about this idea... and think David will look adorable in it. Specially when in his car seat or stroller. :)

The start of another hobby...

I've been knitting and doing artsy crafty things most of my life... and while I love writing my blog about my son, I decided I needed to do something for myself as well... and since I love making things, I figured, why not make a blog about the things I make?? :)

Hopefully I can stay committed enough. :)
